Visual Life

In this Intel Visual Life short documentary, Michael Wolff, co-founder of Wolff Olins Agency and considered one of the preeminent visionaries and perhaps the father of 20th century brand expression and identity, talks about his approach to looking at the world, including the muscles of curiosity, appreciation, and imagination.

What’s incredible about Michael Wolff is his amazing appreciation of everything around him. We can all learn from him. Wonderful.

Great Wooden Boats

There’s a sure fire way to start living in your present: love the work that you do.

Filmmaker, Philip Bloom:

Whilst on holiday near the Great Lakes in June I was able to borrow Eric Kessler’s RED Epic for a few days. I messed around with the slow motion 300 FPS first thing but I really wanted to shoot a little piece with it so we found the Great Lakes Boat Building Company online. Phoned them up and asked if we could spend two hours with them making a little film…Mike, the owner said of course!

Today

On August 27th, 2009 Jonathan Harris turned 30 and began a simple ritual of taking one photo every day and posting it to his website before going to sleep.

“I wanted to find a way to be more in the moment…”

This is a short film about Jonathan’s project, made a few weeks after he stopped it, by Scott Thrif.

The Distiller

Made by Hand is a series of short films which, at their core, show people working hard at things they love.

Each film aims to promote that which is made locally, sustainably, and with a love for craft. Based in Brooklyn, the project takes its influence from the handmade movement here and elsewhere. We hope you find the spirit of it inspiring.
